worst on my truck was the Mr. Bean door latch (sliding deadbolt screwed to outside of driver's side door, another one on the inside to keep it latched while you're driving )

Next worst was the 65psi in all 4 bfg all terrains

next worst was the 3" self tapping sheet metal screws drilled through the back of the cab holding the fire extinguisher mount. When I took the bed off I saw these two screws sticking out the back of the cab at me

still not as bad as my first car though I guess

Still strikes me as funny your are pedalling pretty fast to justify what YOU did, but slam the PO.
Ahem... so you've done your share of breaking, and your slamming him for breaking as well? Uh....oooookay... thook is right, sometimes turning a wrench will stop a leak, and most of us will try that 1st.

Damn, now I feel kinda lucky my Runner's PO was a woman! She took it in to a shop for everything!

Anyone who'se turnt a wrench has pulled enough bonehead stunts. I am sure we could come up with plenty of "here's your sign" stuff.

No need to bash anyone is my point.

yeah and as for the "O" ring i never replaced it when i rebuilt it it came with the kit but i never knew where it went and i dont have a leck and im at about 3k miles on her, heck i got 2 of them and yes i had everything apart but on the side of being a retard at wrenching lol it when you slip or brake the bolt your trying to turn and having your fingers punch the heck out of something hard and always sharp and metal most of the time its dirty too lol

Unless you are the one turning in a bolt from the top to the bottom you can't feel the threads stretch to know when to stop. Chances are the bolt was already broken and when he touched it it just finished breaking and snapped off. I never use a torque wrench for bolts like that anyway. I just do it by feel and have had pretty good luck with it.

The only thing I ever use torque wrenches on is important stuff that actually needs to be torqued. Like the head. I will admit I have tightened my valve cover too tight on my last truck....SNAP...and I said screw it and left it alone.

got the new bolts from the dealership. the ones that were in there were to long, so that didn't help. fixed now with no leaks

the guy i bought my truck from, broke the heater controls because he couldent figure out the heater control valve was rusted and stuck, so he jsut got pissed and yanked the lever off and hosed it good, broke the rear tail gate handle by pulling on it to hard, cant figure out why thow, wanted to use the bed with shell top on it as a trash can so he broke the rear window out, instead of removing it, and i dont think he ever changed the oil in the 2 years he owned it and thought it was ok to jsut run water in the cooling system.

That's how I ended up doing a full frame off restoration on mine. Everywhere I looked the PO had buggered something, so to be absolutely certain, I disassembled the entire truck and started from there. I'm really glad I did.
