Your question has been answered many times over in this thread. Only the '82 Supra AFM works. The part # is 22250-43110.

The part number is etched in the black plastic on top of the AFM, I guarantee you will see it.

Grab the throttle body from an 1982 Supra as well if you want to see the most benefit.

Supra AFM first drive

I already have a cone filter with a flexible coupling that would accommodate the Supra 5MGE AFM inlet. The stock AFM-intake duct coupling started to tear when I tried inserting the Supra AFM (another reason to avoid prison, kids) so I stopped and duct taped the AFM to the coupling. The I.D.'s weren't much different. Just to clarify, I the only thing different compared to my original set up (stock with cone filter) now was the AFM off the 1982 Supra with a 5MGE engine.

The engine fired up and idled exactly the same as the stock AFM. I then took it out for a test drive for a good 15 minutes (ample time for the engine to warm up). The verdict: I wouldn't have noticed the difference if I hadn't been looking. ****BUT****, this does not surprised me by this (read on below--->).

It would appear the stock AFM isn't the only major bottle neck in the stock intake. The intake as a whole (stock filter, AFM, intake duct, and throttle body) is a bottle neck. By replacing the entire intake with ~3.25" hose, adding a cone filter, Supra 5MGE AFM and possibly even a larger I.D. TB (off an '82 5MGE or from LC Engineering) would definitely see some noticeable gains. I will be working towards the setup as described as fund allow in the next little while.

Ready to Install

Well here it is, ready to install. My '82 Supra AFM and my Spectre Filter and ducting. Now, if only I had the new mounting bracket worked out.

And all this for less than a FIPK kit. I'm pretty stoked to get the bracket worked out and install this baby.

wow, looks great!! Did your filter fit right on? I had to trim the oem mounts off of the afm to get the filter to sit on right. It looks like yours went on a-ok though! I got lucky with the mounting and just reused/modified the K&N fipk brackets to work. I did have to drill and tap a hole on the afm to bolt to though. My next attempt is to make an extension for the afm wire harness and swap the battery/intake around. I also ordered my new(for the third time) winch bumper. I'm backing up on projects now!

I did have to grind down the oem mounts. The filter I got was designed to be able to fit 3"-4", so I bet one just for 3" would be alright. Although I did grind down the edges, instead of cutting them right off, I just fought with the filter for about 45 minutes so I could still have the oem tabs for mounting options later.

New winch bumper? Can't wait to see.

Cool, that's probably all the same stuff that I got then. Did your flexhose kit come with couplers? I bought the rubber couplers and didn't use them(just the clamps). The tubing actually screws into couplers that were included in the kit. I was afraid to use the clamps on the corrugated tube because I thought it would collapse it?

Spectre Ducting

I purchased rubber couplers separate (which is why it's blue and not black) The packaging, and Spectre customer service, suggest the rubber coupler works as well as the included grooved cuff does. You can also purchase replacement grooved cuffs if you prefer. You can buy the clamps separate as well.
