what, wattora has a trip of 22 people going up to FS 70
here is the full detail
Difficulty Rating: < 3.0 But variable because of snow depth - Click Here for a Legend of Difficulty

Communications: CB Channel 4

Required Equipment: Click Here. Strong front and rear recovery points are REQUIRED on this run. See the Required Equipment page for details. A tow ball is NOT acceptable. Please dress warmly, be prepared with shovels, recovery straps and other equipment for a day of stucks in feet of snow. Toyota of Puyallup is providing lunch.

The current plan is to start up FS 70 and see if we can make it to FS 72 for the loop. Otherwise, depending upon the conditions, 72,73,74,75, are possible alternates. This run is suitable for stock 4x4's and first time drivers.

I live out in the Geneva neighborhood by lake Whatcom...its kind of funny we all have the same dark metallic 87 4runners here in Bellingham. Unfortunately I am working on becoming a mechanical engineer at Oregon State so I’m only here until January fifth...if some people want to get together after Christmas we could go play in the snow. I know a few places that not to many people know of but they are all snowed in pretty good right now. We could make a run up north fork and see how far we can get, maybe to the gravel pit? Any of you like shooting? The cold has kind of worked my runner over good but hopefully she will live again by the end of tomorrow...

well it is about 20 minutes out highway 542 towards mt baker...it used to be epic wheeling with almost a hundred miles of trails everywhere but it is now shut down...but there are still around 20 miles of logging roads and a few gravel pits that are fun to play in. It probably has over a foot of snow right now so no garentees we could even make very far. Another option would be academy but there is a debate on whether or not it is still ok the wheel there...

bassically way to many people were going there just to party leaving garbage and scraped cars everywhere after they started leaving the gate open. Way more people were wheeling there and things were getting shredded and erroding pretty bad. A few good guys a know where wheeling way up on the mountain on some of the more difficult stuff and when they came down there were police officers at the bottom. They said they had poeple who lived in the neighborhood watchign and peoples trucks were goign to start gettign impounded.

Later on while working at Les Schwab I met a guy who owns a majority of the property on the lower side. He said he used to not care but as things got worse it was just to big of a mess. The streams that his cows drank were running with mud from the top of the mountain. He claimed to have contacted neighbors and the police department.

I know many people who have continued to wheel there without a problem and there are no no trespassing signs or anything posted.

there is actually some quality trails up there if you know how to them. There are actually trails that couldnt make it up with my old trail only rig. I dont really take my 4runenr up there anymore because i always try stuff beyond my 4runners abilty and get body damage haha.

Ya some people have no respect they have to leave the gate unlocked because they built one house up there. With the gate unlocked anyone can drive through without having to get through those minor obstacles. Me and my friend actually were night wheeling up there before and passed people having a small party. when we came back they were all gone but left a bunch of garbage and was about a 40x40 foot section of grass burning that took us like and hour to put out...
