Are you using synthetic oil? I live in PA and my 86' 4Runner used to have a hard time starting up during the winter, so I starting using synthetic and usually has no problems.

the deep cycle battery is probably the problem. i'm assuming its cranking slowly?
regular car batteries are designed to provide high amps for a few seconds, and dont have the ability to supply loads for long periods of time. deep cycles are just the opposite. The characteristics of the battery are based on how far apart the internal lead plates are, and how thick they are.
your deep cycle has the ability to provide enough amerage when its warmer to start, but not when its cold. batteries are most efficent at 80 degrees fahrenheit, and decrease at low temperatures.

Pretty cold here in the Gorge as well: Freezing Cold Issues. The rain all day before the temps dropped into the single digits didn't help either.
Maybe some moisture related issue, bad battery cable connection, coil wires or frozen water in the fuel line.
I usually check the wiring first.

alot of people forget you can get ice in your fuel which will clog any fuel line if you have any moisture in your tank. a little heet goes along way!!!
my chevy had that exact problem and manifested in the same no start scenario, ecxept it was at the airport after sitting for a week, in -15 weather!!

I have the non-deep cycle Interstate battery in my 4runner and it is great. it has been in the teens around here too and every morning it fires it up great. I also run synthetic oil. I am using Rotella T Synthetic 5w-40 diesel oil (blue jug) Been quite happy with it. It does help quite a bit with the cold start ups.

X2.
I stick the hose of the WD 40 into the lock, and they just load the heck outa it. Fill it till it flows out, then work the key back and forth. You wont have an issue.
I do it to all the trucks at my place.
My e-brake keeps freezing shut! I HATE IT
