smittybilt bumper ?

Just had mine mounted. Is it suppose to sit up close like this, or be farther away from the front. Couldnt really find any side pics. Does mine look mounted correctly.. Found this bumper at a junk yard. I dont know if its for my year truck. My friend works at a frame shop and mounted it the best he could.

Looks like it could be tweaked abit, not damaged just needs adjusting, lean it forward since it's sloping backwards. It's just a matter of loosening the bolts and applying pressure. Youll just have to get in there and mess with it abit to figure out what works.

Of course it could be tweaked damage wise, but looks like plenty of room at the bottom.

Ok but these bumpers are suppose to sit close to the front of the hood? My bud had to make some brackets. It'll be tough to make adjustments but ill see what he can do. Just wanted to see some side shots for comparison

Hey, my 88 has Smitty's front and rear, I can get some pics for you? It looks correct to me but I'm not sure, your camera is a little blurry.

Not really sure how it was mounted, so can't say for sure how to adjust it. The stock 2wd bumper mounts are drilled slightly oversized maybe 4-5mm, just a small amount will make a large difference at the top of that bumper.

I saw those threads. The bumper is a little different but I'm guessing since the smittybilt bumper replaced the stock one, its gonna sit snug against the front end.

Red face

Like you said you have no idea what year truck it came off.

When your friend custom made the brackets you really should have been there to give your input.

When I put one of these on my 2000 Tacoma I also was just guessing one does the best you can.

I suppose a new set of brackets to make it more pleasing to you is in order.

Thing is you can mount it anyway you want it after all is your truck.

Wow that truck looks awesome. I had an extended cab but got rid of it for the extra seat space for the kids and wife. I still regret it. I want to cut my bumper and throw a winch in it like yours. Yeah some side shots would be awesome.

Thanks for the pics. Mine is pretty close to that. I'm wondering how you hid the mounts for the lower valance so well. Mine were sticking out a little. That's why I just it off. Once again awesome looking truck
