Sliders for 2nd gen - weight, where to buy

My first off-road adventure in the 4Runner resulted in the destruction of the running boards (http://www.ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23475) so I'm going to have to increase sliders on the priority list.

I have found several that I like - here's the problem: I live in Ohio. (I'm sure that will get a lot of funny replies) I bet shipping from CO, AZ, or CA is insane - anyone know about how much we're talking? Could have them delivered at work with unloading capability if necessary.

I will be out in CO in a couple weeks, and was thinking if they are less than 70 lbs, I could pick some up and check them as luggage on the flight home. Anyone know the weight of a set of sliders and/or airline luggage restrictions (United if it makes a difference). Any recommendations on sliders made in CO? (already called Slee and ORS)

I can probably get them fabbed locally, but would feel more comfortable getting them from someone who does it every day.

$50-150 for shipping.

Don't even attempt to check them on a plane - I'm 99% sure they'll laugh at you for size/weight.

I thought I read that Demello ships anywhere in the US for $60. Check his website for more details. His sliders definitely rock. They look really good, especially with the wrinkle-finish powdercoating.

Sliders should go for under $60 shipped to the continental 48. Try DHL.

I will second the Stubbs sliders. May pay a bit mor for shipping but totally worth it. I would get them unpainted. I have found that no powder coating will with stand slider use. Painting them yourself makes touch up way easier.

That's the most beautiful thing that can possibly happen to running boards. Nice! Check with Stubb's -- he's used to shipping all over the place and his craftsmanship is outstanding.

I have a pair of brand new 4Crawler "Ultimate" Sliderz that i'll sell ya. I'm willing to take a $100 loss. I bought them with POR-15 treatment, black paint, and grip tape added to the outter bar. Made for a 2nd gen and never used due to my change of plans. Email me if interested.
