slack in rear end
have a 87 truck with auto trans the rear end has a lot of slack in it i have tighten the Pinion Bearing but did not help what should i do i did install a locker about 2 months ago also when it shifts somethimes it feels like u bolts are lose but i checked them like the truck wants to kick to side the front end will make sound sometime when you have hubs locked and not in 4 wheel drive like a grlowing sound

Who installed the locker? Sounds like a fubar'd job.

checked tires one had 5 # more but still got slack can i do this and will it help http://www.gearinstalls.com/freshen.htm i just marked everything the way it came out and put it back

X2 on the amount of slack they have alot, It is partly how they work. They do have some quirks when driving with them. So extra play in the steering will make it worse if you have any.
It stays locked up under alsmost any load and unlocks as soon as you free it up so it can feel like it is snatching and pulling. Especially if you are doing it on purpose trying to figure it out.

Those lockers create a bunch of slack. Another downside to them
If you noticed when you installed it, where you slip your pin thru the halves the halves are egg shapped. That is so the pin will ramp up the halves and apply pressure to the drives. It has to have a certain amount of slack to ramp and lock and then unlock.
I would call Detroit direct if you have questions. They will know before the parts guy
