Size bolt fits in top rollbar hole of 4runner?
Hey sorry for the dumb question.. but i want to make a Hi-lift mount for my roll bar , i dont have a bunch of odd bolts lieing around, and dont want to go in and out of home depot a million times trying to find the right bolt size..
I am talking about the hole for the shoulder belts in the roll bar .
Same as pic below..

was there ever a seat belt shoulder belt on this generation 4runner (mine is an 88). Only a lap belt is the standard, right? Has anyone ever retro-fitted and shoulder belt on? I would feel better having a shoulder and lap belt in the back especially for a booster seat for my young son to be properly secured. I see the holes on the roll bar that look like they could have been used for that purpose.

There was an option, you could purchase a separate shoulder strap & buckles. Made a 2-piece set-up, so that you'd have a total of 5 buckles in the back seat. The PO of my '89 did that.
I thought it was cumbersome so I pulled the 3rd row shoulder belts out of a mid-90's Landcruiser at the local yard & bolted them in after making some very minor adjustments. I feel a lot better with my 4-1/2 & 18 month old in the back seat now.
They are a little long when not in use, but they work like they are supposed to.

Dog812- Sorry about that lil' highjack there... unless ur looking for a specific length, pull a couple seat belt bolts from your local yard. If they aren't long enough, at least you can walk into the store with one & match the size.

Rear seat belts were a Canadian option, no longer sold by Toyota - discontinued just a couple years back as I got them for my 85.
Search the forum as there are several threads on rear seat belts for 1st gen 4Runners.

waskillywabbit.............Ok so it seems I can either buy new (found the forum about seat belts) or retro-fit from the front seat of a donor vehicle. I know you sell the bikini tops and am interested in eventually getting one, but will the bikini top still mount the same way or is the seat belt mounted to the roll-bar get in the way?

I'll let you know how everything fits.

Cool.
Do the belts from the front seat work without and modification or what? Are they long enough being that the shoulder part reaches farther back?

I'll be modding mine a little bit but for the time being they work out well.

I used the belts out of an 86 pickup as well, but left the buckles under the seat stock. Works well aside from the shoulder belts being a bit loose when not in use. I need to find some gray ones (shoulder belts from 2nd gen reg cab pickup) though, anyone have some?

Front seat belts bolt right to the roll bar. The front floor bolt goes in the side panel near the floor. Use the same screws in the same places and use the collar spacer on the roll bar where the bikini support bar shares the mount.
