shocks?

shocks?

on my 86 4x4, stock suspension, i am thinking about replacing the front shocks. is there a way test them to see if they need to be replaced?

and i do decide to replace them what brand and where should i get them? i am not gonna drop a ton of cash on them either so best for the buck would be nice.

IMO, Bilstein's are the best shocks. But they're expensive. Ranchos are really soft. KYB's are prob your best *cheap* shock.

Check if bad on the truck:

And off the truck:

*Basically, you bounce with a solid push the respective corner of your vehicle and if bounces more than once or twice, your shock is bad.

Ok thanks, my shocks aren't as bad as I thought they would be then.

I looked at bilsteins, the ones that would fit.my truck are like 70 bucks a POP but i can do that if nesasary.

Where can I get rubber bushings for the bottom connection on the front shocks? Mine are pretty well gone

they usually come with new shocks, I've seen them at NAPA sometimes if you are just looking for the bushings.
