Just to throw in my couple of pennies. I bought OEM replacement Monroe Synsatracs (spelling?) when I needed some for the 86 pickup, they are really nice for the price. I liked them so much that I left them on when I did the lift since huge articulation wasn't what I was looking for. I'll probably do the same with the 89 4runner when I get around to buying shocks for it.
