Shackle question

I just went and measured the rear leafs on the 4Runner (89 - Gen1).

I have the old AOR orbit eyes on there.
the frount mount is relocated 4" forward (eye to eye)

The total leaf lenght is about 53-54"
(OEM is 48" I think)
I ferget the centerpin forward measurement (22" I think - its centered in the OEM spot)

The rear shackle is 6.5" center to center.

The lift is "too tall" as the springs were set up for alot ow weight and Ive taken the tool box out.

Any reason I WONT be able to say drill a hole in the shackle and/or get new shackles at say 4.5" (Marlin has em) and thus drop the height a tad?

(I understand that 2" of shackle yeilds about 1" of lift)

Will the shackle just not "line up"?

Should I also get some weld on rear shackle mounts and be prepared to weld on some new ones to relo the hanger pin on the frame?

The goal is to drop the lift by 2"...

I have 3.5" of air between the top of the OEM rubber bump stop and the striker on the frame. OEM was like 1"
