Seats interchangeable?

The passenger bucket seat tracks on my 88 are shot. Not sure how it happened, but the rollers bearings fell out and the track has a tear in it. The weird part is that it's rarely used and not rusted up. In any event, I'm wondering if seats from a 2nd gen will bolt into a 1st gen.
edit: One other consideration is the amount of travel the passenger seat has to allow the seat to move forward enough to allow access to the rear seat. Not sure if the 2nd gen has the same amount of travel. (?)

Ive read that second gen seats fit. The driver’s seat supposedly bolts right in, the passenger seat needs one rear hole redrilled. As far as the “walk-in” feature on the passenger seat, if you got seats out of a 2nd gen 2door model I’d imagine it would function close to what you have. There’s a lot of threads out there, just google ‘1988 4Runner seats” and scroll through the first various forum posts; TTORA, marlin crawler, and previous yotatech write-ups.
