I went over to a buddies and he poured it in as I revved the engine / smoked real bad for a 1minute or 2 and then I put it on the interstate / It cleaned out alot of junk. I am ready to try it again and see what else will come out.

hey guys, i know it can be done, just a matter of who is willing to do it, but wouldnt it be nice if someone would get a pic of the hose to unplug and pour into and circle it in red or something? that would make this the best seafoam thread ever. lol.

(the technical terms are worrying me, but i rly would like to do it.) heheheh

Well Its pretty simple meaning no pictures should be needed. Since there are a variety of different hoses/locations that it can be applied through there is no one answer. I know what you are saying but I mean it should be simple enough to choose a hose on or near the manifold area and just start pouring. HOWEVER.....

I know this isnt Toyota specific but watch this and they show where it can be poured into.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...=seafoam&hl=en

Or we can just search and find previous post ups of everything we have talked about in this thread. This one DOES include pictures and links, etc. just look through this thread.

lol. i just went through the first 10 pages of the original thread there, and of course, just with my luck, all the pics that seem to be important, aka the pics that say, "heres the hose" are gone. not to mention almost all of the pics were of the 3.0, not my 22re. sooo... i'll guess.

heres so i make at least an educated guess. lol. theres gonna be a big hose that runs back towards the cab. im gonna pull that hose from the front end and pour with the hose still connected at the point closest to the cab, while the engines running, and then once i get close to 1/3 of the can, i pour a little faster, or just stop and turn it off, and then restart it after about 10 minutes or so.

that sound about right?

ok with your truck running find a hose connected to the manifold or throttle body etc. If the hose looks like it is feeding into the engine then thats good. Pull it off, if it dies without you covering the end of the hose with your thumb then use that one. Thats a vacuum hose and will be good for the seafoam.

lol. u assume i know which is the manifold/throttle body/engine/battery. ok, i know what the battery looks like, but yea. lol. saying the battery is on the left side, airbox is on the right side, theres the 4 split metal tube lookin things on the left side, and the exhaust is comin out of the right side of the engine. with those reference points, where should i pull a hose from, and which side?

must be patient with me. lol. but u only gotta tell me once.

Did it yesterday to my wifes Altima ('96)...It smoked for 20 minutes after. I have a hard time believing it is due to how much crap is in there! I think there was some still stuck in the TB so it just kept pulling a little in at a time. Got a lot of looks from the neighbors....

Also did it on my Jeep (122K miles)...which is having some issues with high HC emissions, and the exhaust stinks to high heavens! It didn't smoke but for a few seconds.

I couldn't tell any difference in either vehicle. Did have an interesting find though. Pulled the spark plug wire out of cylinder one on the Altima....it is one of the long plugs that goes in the top of the engine....the plug is way down deep.....any way the entire hole was full of oil. Valve cover is leaking into the hole...still runs great. I have had water in there before, after an engine cleaning and it will short the plugs and make it run terrible.

Seafoam seems to be just a lot of "Smoke and Mirrors" to me.....I want my $6 back!

Well since I dont have a 22re and used to have a 22r but dont remember where the hoses were I believe there are some on the top. Do you know what the throttle body is??? Connected to the air intake? If you pull the intake off you can maybe rig something to be able to pour it into there. Altho liquids going sideways is sometimes hard . Just on the very top of your engine choose any hose and pull one end of it off, if it is sucking and tries to die when not plugged thats a good one to use.

Thats really the best I can explain it. Sorry I dont have any pics or cant help any more. Just go and find one of these vacuum hoses though.

Hey diglop, The PCV hose attaches to the PCV valve right in the center of your valve cover. You should be able to use that hose

I used the middle one, same one that runs to fuel evap cannister. Stuck it in the can and let the truck suck it out. It's such a small 1/8 or 1/32nd diameter hose that it metered it quite well. PCV, brake booster will work as well if you pour slow enough to keep it from dying.

if ur standing in front of the truck, and u put ur finger on the idle adjust screw, theres a hose straight across to the right, about 3 inches. that work?

btw, this might be easier if i ask this. with my engine running, can anything get rly messed up and cost a bunch of money if i unplug it or pull it off? as in just hoses. i dont plan on yankin off anything metal. lol.

No pulling a hose off will not hurt anything. It just the system doesnt have its vacuum and dies. No harm at all. Like the few previous posts. Right on top you should find a few options

alright. lol. that was fun. i found a nice little hose to pull. its a real short one, runnin from across to the right from the idle screw and a little up, and it runs about 8 inches into the top of the engine. when i pulled it the idle dropped off some, and i could feel the suction.

now i would pour the stuff into that with the flow of air, yes?

yep, that sounds like the perfect hose. Pour it in at as constant rate as possible. Listen to your engine, too much may cause it to bog down and die, you just gotta get a feel for it. Its not too complicated. Put in as much as you desire but most the time people split the can between there, the crankcase, and fuel tank. Its up to you.
