Running Hot

I installed an electric fan(eliminated the clutch fan) on my 1994 3.0 V6. It was a Hayden 3700. Now it runs even hotter. The fan is pulling air and seems to come on at 185 degrees as advertised but it's running ridiculously hot. Any ideas?
