Rpm wont reach 3k

My 22re been acting weird, starts up fine idles fine 1st 2nd 3rd gear fine but once starting to speed up at 2.7k ish rpm its like running out of gas or running lean, when i hit gas all the way the rpm will go up VERY slowly and u can feel engine is shaking that makes car shaking too and my rpm neddle like having an eathquake just to reach 3k rpm.
But its not happened on 1st or 2nd gear.
Im guessing either spark plugs/wire/rotor n cap but not sure
New oem fuel filter less than 6mo
Spark plugs in their way.i need some input where the cheapest deal to buy oem plug wire, rotor n cap? If anybody can direct me

You may have weak valve springs.

Just a thought if you can get a hold of a vacuum gauge you might be able diagnose your engine.

It can be a few different things or a combination. But, not able to get high RPMs under load is a valve spring symptom.

Check and set your idle speed and timing.
Check for vacuum leaks, in particular in the duct from the throttle to the air filter.
Check your spark plugs; check your plug wires- make sure they're not close to any metal.

I checked timing like long time ago it was correct.
Vacuum leaks will messed up the idle too right? But my idle just perfect
Spark plug might need replace thats why i ordered already, wires no loom might touching any metal and very close to header

Udated i just revved on 2nd gear and it happened on 4k rpm *sigh*

I seriously doubt it's valve springs. My 22RE Runner had 295,000 miles and ran fine minus burning large amounts of oil. Unfortunately the remanufactured motor burns oil and coolant, so I'm building the next motor myself. But that's a different story.

Once you've eliminated simple things, check your TPS, most Haynes or Chiltons manuals even have the specs. You'll need a multimeter, to check resistance through the circuits.

I don't understand how it could be an engine problem if you're not getting the same results in all gears.

You said it doesn't do it in 1st or 2nd gear, but it does it in 3rd. That's a little weird to me because 1st and 2nd will obviously reach 3k RPMs easier than any other gears. I wonder if it's something with the transmission rather than engine. Try revving the engine sitting in your driveway up to those RPMs and see what you get. I'm going to assume that you have a 5 speed (you didn't specify) so try it with the clutch in and out and see if that changes anything. What about 4th and 5th gears....does it do the same thing then too?

I just revved on 2nd and 3rd last night and it was happened but in higher rpm (4k) basically .if the car just sitting and i hit the gas,rpm will go up freely.yes mine is 5speed sorry.
So 2nd n 3rd gear happen to but around 4k rpm and 4th n 5th gear on 2.7k rpm
