rough idle when warm
Hello. I'm new to the board. I bought a 91 22re several months ago and have been using the information on the forums, a bunch. This is only my second post. I have a problem that i have not been able to solve by searching. I found a post on the 95.5-2004 forum with the same description of my problem. Unfortunately, the thread died before the problem was solved. I'm having the exact same problem that was described in that post. So, here it is...
On a cold start, the idle is higher, as it should be, so no problem there. Throttle response is good, power is good. When I notice a problem is only if the engine is warmed up and I start it when it's still warm, like after going into a store. The idle will drop to 400 - 500 and run really rough. It almost seems like it would stall. If I rev the engine up to 2000 - 2500 for a few seconds (sometimes it takes one time, sometimes I have to rev it multiple time), it will then idle normally. Also, if i let the engine cool down for a while (probably 1-2 hours) it then idles normally when started.
Thanks in advance...
