Ok. So I picked up this 86 4x4 that didn't run. Said there was a blown head gasket. I picked up a reman. shortblock (22re), assembled it, and dropped it in. I noticed that it was difficult to line up with the bell housing, but finally got it to marry up. When I tested to see if the crank would turn over, it felt locked up.

NOW, the truck wasn't in gear (the driveshaft is off) so Im lost. Can it be misaligned even if the engine marries up to the bell housing? Do I need a new tranny altogether? Im stuck, and need some advice.
