He had a site detailing how he did it at one time.

I've seen maybe 5 or 6 chopped (and some bobbed) like that online. Google and you'll find lot's of ideas, pics and buildups.

Another idea is to move up the rear window/ glass/ gate. Basically, remove the side glass between the last door and back of the truck. Hard to describe and visualize I know... but you end up with a mini-bed and a roll down rear window just behind the back seats.

My 2nd Gen may go this way some day. I agree, it's a cool idea and a different look.

I was planning on doing that to mine here really soon. Whoever tryed to weld on the roof after mine had been rolled did a bad job, so I figured I will just chop off the back just like that one. Then once thats done I can mount a fuel cell in the back. I would like to know where he got that top though, thats exactly what I'm looking for. Don't want to cut the roof until I can recover it.

this was on eBay a few times...if you want them for future reference, save the pics to your computer cause they'll be gone soon.

What, you guys have something against shiny 17x9 rims?

I'm curious what he's running for diffs under that thing. Those are 8 bolt wheels, and you can tell by the width, and the front hubs he isn't using 6->8 bolt adapters. 1 ton diffs under a 4Runner...hehe I smell a Dana 60!

Exactly what I was thinking. That is nice rig although I'd hate to be selling it cause you would never get all that work back.

^ yeah, it has Dana 60's, moser 35 spline axles, 39.5x12.5x 17" crawlers, arb locker in front, spool in the rear... I don't like the color combo but that could be changed.

Heres another chopped 4runner...

*Sigh* if only I had the money - oh and my ring and pinion fixed to get this chop done. It's gonna happen some-day. As TC says at $430 per rear window (plus the tailgate window not working) it sure makes a lot of sense to do a chop!

Thanks for the heads up Rocket!
