i cant read my label on this wire. anyone know where it goes? its bundled up with the cable that plugs into the back of the alternator on my 87 4runner 22re. also if anyone has a good wiring diagram for an 87 please let me know. im having trouble with my truck after a rebuild and i want to go over all the wiring again. thanks

It's the ground wire for your alternator. It is attached to the head on one of the bolts for the powersteering bracket. It feeds up through the little space in the bracket.
I suppose it could go anywhere...as long as you create a good ground.

i think i found my problem. a wire from the harness that was hiding under the plenum. where does this go? what is it for? i read on another thread that there is a ground that goes to the stud on the plenum mounting area and grounds the intake manifold. is this it? it has 12 volts going to it though.

why would there be 12V to it though? Not saying it isn't though. Just curious how he's getting 12V.
