the right head gasket

I am pretty sure I have the correct head gasket for my 86 22re 4runner. I got it from toyota. What I am seeing is when I put the gasket on the block the round coolant passages next to the bolt holes get covered up by the gasket.

The head has the corresponding holes but there is no way for the coolant to go from the block to the head, Has anyone else noticed this?

The head gasket will block holes that Toyota has deemed unnecessary for coolant flow under normal conditions. High-performance engines may require coolant passages be exposed that aren't otherwise used but an appropriate head gasket for those situations will expose those passages.
What you need to be most concerned about are the oil passages between the engine block and head aren't occluded.
