Reverse lights stopped working

At first they would just flicker on and off while i had it in reverse and now they just dont come on at all. I highly doubt its the bulbs being out so it must be a relay or the switch in the gear shift? Has anyone encountered this before? Where do I start?

There is a reverse light switch screwed into the side of the transmission, check to see if the switch is working.

I had this happen recently to my truck.
One brake/turn/tailight and one reverse bulb were out.
I replaced ALL the bulbs and all is well.Everything works as it should and I dont have to worry about the wife raggin on me about getting a ticket.

Bulbs are cheap and readily available at your nearest auto parts store.

Ok thanks guys, ill check the bulbs first but if its not that its probably the switch. Im pretty sure its the switch because the lights would flicker on and off and basically just started being on less and less until they never come on. Oh and its a manual tranny.
