Unhappy Replacement antenna assembly

I'm not sure if any of yall are familiar with the antenna assembly on 3rd gen. yotas, but the rod that holds the fender mount antenna in place(inside the fender) keeps breaking. I am going to just get another replacement assembly but this time I want to use a flexible antenna, like a cb whip. Does anybody know if they sell an antenna like this that can just screw in place of the old, stiff antenna? Here is a link to the part I'm buying in case I confused you: http://www.andysautosport.com/toyota...r00000700.html

Try searching: taco whip
Lots of conversations on antenna replacement though it's usually the mast itself that irks people.

Thank you! And yes I will have to get a new rod for under the fender but the manual mast is what keeps causing it to break.
