repair broken clip on interior trim

A clip on one of the pillar trim pieces broke when taking it off and am looking for the best method of patching it back. As shown, I already tried sistering a strip of epoxy putty here but it ended up being more brittle than the original plastic. I would like to try the same approach with a different material but looking for guesses as to what may be the best glue considering this failure point. My approach would probably be to put a glob of the substance and carve it into shape when dry.

I would first consider if you could use a double sided tape like 3m makes. It’s about .030” thick and you could stack it or glue another piece of plastic on then adhere to that.

I tried repairing the clips om my A-panel trim. Nothing worked great for me. I ended up installing a small nutsert in the metal and using a trim machine screw to hold the panel in place.

You could try this. I hear it does work as well as advertised. Build you up a new clip or use to to secure the broken part
