Removed steering stops

I removed the steering stops off my Toy today. It stopped all that crummy sounds i was getting when i turn the wheels a bit deep. This shouldn't hurt anything should it?

Your idler arm and pitman arm are going to rub, depending how big your tires are. They may rub first.

Well, if you hear any grinding you'll know what it is. Just don't turn too hard.

A little grease and my stops are dead silent... Seems a little drastic to cut them off imo

i dunno how it is in your state but in va the part of inspection that usually gets guys with lifted trucks and larger tires is that the wheels have to turn completely both ways til they hit the stops without rubbing anywhere to pass. they may gig you on that, i dunno

Post some pics, I've never heard of anybody cutting em off before.

Like thook said, you'll have problems with your idler and pitman if you turn too sharp but other than that I can't see any problems...other than the inspection thing.

Easier to just lube the stops. As for no stops now, will rub and overextend your axel joints.
