I rebuilt the head, water pump, oil pump, exhaust header, fuel injectors, and now all I get is a click when I turn the key. What are the odds that my starter just died... what else could it be... what order should I check things to get it started....

? battery to starter
? ignition switch
? solenoid

Hey

My runner likes to click too sometimes, on mine its the starter. When you try to start it and it clicks do you keep trying back to back or just not try that much again. Mine when it acts up i sometimes i have keep turning the key, sometimes 3 times sometimes 30, i snatched my starter out filed the carbon off the contacts and put it back in! Works FINE!

Is it clicking on the starter or behind the dash? Could be two different things.

I had to replace the ground wire that goes from the head to the firewall during my rebuild because it was so corroded. May not be the problem but it's something easy to check.

Also check the wire from the pos. battery terminal to the fuse box. That is a common source of .. no start... probs.

My truck was doing this a couple weeks ago. It turns out the negative connection on the battery was loose.

Men did fall off too, but if it did he would absolutely NOTHING, no clicks or anything, no power going to anything. I replaced my starter, didnt want to worry about taking it out again after how much of a B-Hole it is to take out. (96.00 with core charge at Advanced Auto Parts)

low battery charge, dirty or loose terminal connectors, or possibly bad starter. get someone to beat your starter with a hammer while you try to start it.
