as far as flywheels go... up too u. marling has some good replacements. so does lcengineering, and i think engbldr does also, what id do is some price checking. call a toyota dealership and see what the want, and maybe inquire about a 3.4 flywheel (i think its a direct swap but am unsure) and then base ur pricing off of what they want ya know, but like I said aftermarket or stocker that is entirely up to u as long as it isnt a cheap a$$ aftermarket one ya know. but again thats my 2 cents

Well..everything is at a stand still because Titan told me my core wasnt useable because it couldnt be rebuilt...So basically their just gonna give me another core and rebuild it but hes waiting for it to come in. Should be in tomorrow..

Man.. my friend used Titan for his Heep rebuild and his turnaround time was 3 weeks in HAWAII!! Im going on two months as of TOMORROW! And whats worse they didnt send me back a whole bunch of parts so i cant even start piecing together what I have here. They didnt even send back my timing parts. Any one know where i can find part numbers or specific info on the bolts used to attach the oil pump, bellhousing etc.. And torque specs? Im feeling really discouraged about putting this back together.. Good warentee but horrible timing on Titans part..Pics will be up later..

Dude..Im soo unhappy right now.. I payed $2,039.44 total. The guy never gave me a core refund because he says mine was "unuseable" because there was a hole on the side which is BS because i dont remember all that. Not only that but he "forgot" to send me all my accessories and bolts for everything. Which from what I remember... the engine was supposed to come almost ready to drop in except for maybe the oil pan so it could be palletized and obviously it wasnt gonna come with the pulley belt on and whatnot. This thing came back to me in 3 different boxes shipped at different times. This sucks man now I have a boxload of misc. bolts which i had no idea what goes where so im still gonna have to take this somewhere to get assembled correctly. How much would it suck if i tried putting this crap together just to install something incorrectly or forgot to install something vital which could jepordize the whole rebuild!? Damn man.. Im so mad right now..This blows..Any advice from the YT community? Ill put pics up of the chaos later..What kills me is my boys motor came back to him within 3 weeks and it came ready to drop in except for the pulleys and oilpan.

I would raise hell if I was you.....Call them and tell them your situacion and how is it that your buddy got his engine almost done and your is like 30%....if they not giving you some core, have them to send your block back. also have them send you all your stuff....

The kept the core but sent me all my stuff back. But the guy knew i was sending it in because i have zero experience rebuilding motors so hence why i was sending it in to get rebuilt. Im really gonna raise hell tomorrow because they close at 5pm EST. For this price i should have dropped it off at a shop and had them swap in a 3.4!

so I got the block back from titan engines with out all my bolts and other goodies..had to call them up to have them ship my stuff out..when they did they still forgot to send me a whole bunch of stuff..so now that I finally have everything I need...my funds are running low so basically the project is at a standstill until I can bring the funds back up..plus I feel lost putting it back together...damn..

How did you pay for it?

I have noticed when you dispute a credit card....when the chargeback hits the vendor....all of usudden they learn customer service quickly.

You can dispute on a debit card too....

i think is a little to later for that highlux, he paid for the engine a few months ago. He needed to do it right when he got the engine or at the beginning of the dispute.

Well finally got it in the shop to have a mechanic button up the motor. Lets see how long this takes. It seems to me like the majority of mechanics here in Miami are liars and they can never keep to a deadline. I was told 3 days im expecting on waiting at least 6.

wow.. seems like an eternity..but I finally got the 4runner "running" that last shop was BS. They played with me for about two weeks and I got frustrated because after two weeks all they had done to the motor was put it on an engine stand. I asked the guy what the deal was and he got upset and told me that If I was in such a hurry I should come by and pick up my deposit and my parts. However this next shop was on point and totally delivered so FINALLY ive got my runner back! Only problem now is Im constantly working plus Im going to school fulltime and Ive got a 3 y/o and another on the way so im always too busy to play with it.. But the time will come..At least its running now..

Ok so at times it has rough starts...other times it starts right up but the check engine light would always come on it sometimes idles smooth and other times it fluctuates from normal to low...to a point where it turns off. I bought a new O2 sensor and the check engine light doesnt come back on..but I still have rough starts and it still idles funny sometimes..any ideas? TPS?

Well if the idle is surging it could be an air pocket in the cooling system.

As for the engine light you need to check the trouble codes, there is a link in my sig that might help you out.

Sweet..thanks Lumpy.. I wasnt aware that I could retrieve codes that way..either way..i was thinking it was throwing a code because of a bad O2 senor so I replaced it and the check engine light is now gone. However the rough idle (at times) still plauges the runner..so I will flush the radiator and refill and see how that works for me. When the truck is off for longer than 30 minutes it has a hard time starting...but will always start after 5 seconds of turning it over. But once its on, if I turn it off momentarily, it will always turn on easily. Any ideas on that?
