Rebuild update

Well after getting another head to replace the cracked one i thought i was on my way to getting everything machined. Wrong! Now they tell me the block is cracked. So i'll start looking for a replacement. Does anyone know the years that are the same as a 1990 3.0 v-6? Also anyone have a block for sale in arizona i,m looking.

89-95 blocks should be fine for you. I've heard rumours the 88 v6 block doesn't have the same engine mounts.
considering things though, az89 may be correct in suggesting a 3.4 swap- the cost of a 3.0 block and work may be nearly equal, or not cost-effective in the long run, to swapping to the 3.4
but I wouldn't know that off hand as I'm a 22re man.

Am I the only one that drives down the road looking really hard at the bottom driverside corner of the grill of other trucks and 4runners of our generation for the V6? When I see it I'm like that sucks it could of been something good.

I believe there was a change in engines after 92. I don't know the exact details, but some things were switched around.

i just swapped a 93 to a 90 with no problem but a cracked block to i have a whole build up on here of it with the motor rebuild and all.. if the cracks not to bad you can have it sleeved at any machine shop mines there getting it done right now i should have it back by monday or tuesday ill post pics of it. i think hes only charging me like $125. might be easier then finding a whole new block. and from what everyone has told me its just as good.

that kinda hurts my feelings...

anyways, yea, the tensioner did change as well as a couple other things... toyota decided to make some stuff more beefy on them... like accessory drive supports, and tensioners...
