Rear wiper mod
I was thinking of removing the rear wiper on my '86 runner (the motor doesn't work anyway) and mounting one of the Hella 500's I have laying around up there to use as a work/off road light. I was thinking I could use the existing wiring and switch from the rear wiper to save some time. Anyone tried this or have any ideas?

Thats a pretty good idea actually as long as rain is not a big thing. Quirky, but smart. I'd first check that its infact the motor, not the relay that is causing the back wiper not to work.
I have work lights on my rear bumper that are wired in parallel to the reverse lights, a switch in the cargo area, and a switch on the dash. They're great for camping and towing people out of the snow etc.

Yeah, there's not a whole lot of rain here in the So Cal desert. I think it is the motor b/c it moves but it is very slow. Either way even before it got to be soo slow it never seemed to work well anyway. Should it work if I just connect the light directly to the wires from the wiper motor or is there something else I need to do. (sorry, I don't know much about electrical)
