rear shock question

rear shock question

anyone know if i could use a stock rear 4x4 shock on the rear of my 2wd? i need a longer shock because mine only have like a half inch of up travel left.

The shocks on the 2wds are much shorter... Its to late for me to tell you the difference (i have both)... but they def dont fit. =p

And if you only have a 1/2" up travel left... then if you get a longer shock you'll have no up travel. You need a shorter shock if the shock on your 2wd is already nearly compressed.

I read his post to say that he only has one more inch of travel as it relates to jacking the truck up, also known as down travel in most civilised countries.

I don't think he would want longer shocks if he was lowering the truck. In his sig there are a bunch of lift items...

As for the question, I have no idea because I don't have a 2wd. Even though it sounds worth a try I'd still buy new shocks to try it with. Shocks are pretty cheap...

sorry, i mean down travel. i wrote that yesterday after being up for almost 34 hours. the problem is that the shocks are almost maxed out and extended all the way. i have just over a 1/2'' left.
