Rear seats in an '87 pickup?

I am looking into installing rear seats into my '87 Pickup. I have an '89 parts rig.

Has anybody done this before?

so is this an extra cab or are you talking about installing them in the bed?
I tried putting a jump seat in the back of my 84 X-tra cab for a car seat, not exactly any room back there
Adding them to the bed- might wanna find out if it's legal in your area

There is definitely not enough room for rear seats inside any 1988 and earlier cabs (regular or Xtra). The Xtra cab on a 1987 only adds about 9-10 extra inches (great for more cab storage and front leg room for tall people) and is not really enough space for a seat. The 1989-1995 Xtra cabs had over twice the room behind the front seat than the previous generation and gave enough room for a jump seat (this is where I sat going on camping trips as a kid).

Thanks for the reply, that is about what I figured. Just from looking back there it seemed bigger.

It is an extra cab, and I was thinking about in the cab. Sounds like others have tried or thought about it, but there is not enough room to pull it off.

Have seen them on "custom cabs" before, plenty of room in the back of those!
