rear pinion bearing
I just recently bought a 94 yota pickup and it is leaking oil pretty bad from the rear pinion seal and you can also move the driveshaft bad so i am presuming it is the rear pinion bearing anybody know how hard it is to change this?

Mine is leaking, and i was contemplating regearing while i do it. (i mean while a shop does it) But isn't it somewhere around $1000 bucks for gears and the installation costs?

You can expect to pay ~$130 for gears, $100 for install kit, and $100-150 to have the gears installed. And thats for one diff. X2 if you have 4wd, because its best to do both at the same time, so $600 on the low side, $800 on the high side.

if you can't find anybody to do the work i highly recommend Zuk. he is half way across the country from ya, but he does great work at a fair price. are you going to put a locker in while you have the diff out?
