Rear brakes won't bleed

I've read post for about 2 hours now and haven't come across this specific problem. Have a fairly hard brake pedal, still stops truck, but no matter how hard I press it's a gradual stop. So I try to bleed today, start with left rear, can't get any fluid. Loosened bleeder screw almost entire way, no flow. Tried right side, same thing. Tried front two bled just fine, no bubbles or anything. Checked LSPV bled fine also. Tried rears again nothing. Loosened a couple of lines between LSPV and rear cylinders while pressing pedal, nothing flowed out. I'm going to trace all way back to LSPV tomorrow, but just wondering if problem is in LSPV, is there a way to adjust it or is it just a R&R. by the way 89 toyota 4X4, 5 speed, 22RE

I had the same kind of issue man. My brakes feel the same, not a hard stop but more gradual. All i can tell you is that my mechanic said sometimes the bleeder valve or whatever on 4runners get jammed up and wont bleed properly even if the screw is all the way open. Im going to go get mind checked because i dont think its just the brake fluid thats the problem.

Good luck!

If it was just one of them I'd think it was in wheel, but I've bled them in past 2 years when replaced Master Cylinder with no problems. If you find anything out when you get them checked let me know.

After that i now dont have any problems at all. I also replace my bleeder valves too.

Red face

Check if you have brake fluid at the rubber line that comes down to the tee.

Bleeder valves get stuck .

Did you ever have lines rust out maybe dirt blocking the line.

Have you checked it is not the Master cylinder not pushing fluid to the rear??

I have seen all of the above.

Got them bled, it was something inside the LSPV. Loosened lines between rear brakes and LSPV while I had pedal pushed down. I'd get the lines backed off about 3-4 complete turns and almost nothing would come out maybe a couple of drips. Just for reference if I backed lines prior to LSPV just one complete turn fluid would start pouring out. So, I adjusted the rod that mounts between the LSPV and differential that senses the load (I guess). After doing that they bled normally. They still aren't working the way they used to, so I'm wondering if the LSPV is bad. Is there another name for this part couldn't find it on any part store website? Is it a bad idea to just remove it or will it just wear down rear brakes faster and make them lock up easier?

I'm pretty sure the LSPV is dealer-only.

You can probably get it online (villagetoyotaparts etc) for cheaper than in town, though you should watch out for the shipping.

did you by any chance lift your truck? if so ,you have to raise your lower lsvp bracket,or just cut off the rod on top and tye-wrap it up.
