Quick CD/radio question

To answer your question, yes most of the factory head units from 86 and up will work with exceptions like if the vehicle had a factory amp it will sometimes be different. I put a head unit out of a 2007 scion tc in my 92 truck and love it. It has a mp3 player, a cd player that dosent skip, and is satellite ready.

All toyota 4runner, tacomas, scions, and im guessing toyota cars have the same plugs. Either it will plug in before the amp or after but the plugs will be there. You can go scion and get the factory look and mp3 or you could also go aftermarket. Plenty of great aftermarket cd/mp3 players out there to not consider it.

The most common plugs are the R1/R2 plugs.
They would be blue or white, and either plug into the amp (if so equipped) or directly into the back of the old radio. One plug has 5 wires going into it, the other has 7 or 9 i believe. Both are Rectagular shaped, one is bigger than the other.
