The o2 sensor wires are cut and there is nothing hooked up and I dont get a ck engine light. Is this normal?

Anyhow I orderd the denso oem o2 sensor I just want to make sure it will do its job when I plug it in.

Are you positive your CEL works?
Also helps to know what year/engine you are working on...(adding this info to your sign is helpful)

 

No, not normal. Does the CEL light for a second when you start the rig? It could be the CEL bulb is burnt out. It could be there is something wired in to fool the ECU into thinking the O2 sensor is there and playing nice.

 

No check engine light comes on when I turn the key or start the engine.

1992 4x4 3vze automatic. The location of the check engine light is on the top of the guage cluster and square right?

All the other stuff lights up. Oil, Seatbelt, rear antilock brakes, A/T temp then they all shut off when I start the motor.

Ok I looked were the gas guage is because my truck does not have a tach and theres still nothing.

 

Sounds like the bulb may be burned out.
