For a real decent price, I have found a ratcheting locker and a third member out of a early 90's 4runner with the 3.0. I know that this is a 4 rib 8" axle.. will I be able to use this locker in my 86 8" 3 rib? Can I just take the locker out of that third and slide it into mine? This is my 1st locker install...

 

are you sure that your truck has a 3 rib i think 86 was the first year the went to four

 

Yeah, it has a 3 rib. You are correct, 86 was the first year, but the 4 ribs were only in turbo trucks.
