Cool

In the past, I ordered a hi amp alternator from Mr. Alternator. The alternator was 150 amps and the price was not that outrageous. I needed the alternator for my CB radio setup. The alternator held up very well! The only thing was that the plug for the alternator was badly worn and didn't charge up after awhile. Soooo, I took out the alternator and put in a stock alternator and when it did not charge up, I realized then that it was the wire/ plug and so the 150 went back in.

Mechanical Man is another place that I have heard of. Their alternators have a 'hot' rating as other companies rate their products 'cold'

Just my 2 cents...
Mike

No, I don't think Boyle has a website - they do it the old fashioned way, over the phone. Their customer service is great, give them a call with whatever questions you have!

and be sure to upgrade your wires,VERY IMPORTANT,put a new wire in parallel with old setup,i wont damage anything.put bigger wire(4gage)from alt to batterie(fused if you care about fires, you never know),another from batterie to frame, frame to motor, and one from alt chassis to body or frame ground. and your set. super easy to wire, trust me.

I guess I don't see why I'd pay $130 and have to do modifications when I could pay $118 and just bolt it right in and plug it in...

GM alternators aren't exactly the bastion of reliability ... I'd take a "hot-rodded" Toyota alternator over a stock GM one any day...
