Pulling a trailer with a 22RE 4Runner...?
#1
I'm currently having a new 22RE performance engine swapped with a Pro cluctch. Expected power about 20hp over stock I'm guessing.
I would like to pull my motorcycle (about 400 lbs) with a light weight single axle trailer (about 200-300 lbs).
My questions: Should I pull with my 4Runner? How will it pull ~700 lbs and brake with elevation change/ long hill climbs?
This is my only option at this point and would like to hear from anyone out there will experience in pulling with their 22RE truck/SUV. Also, I don't plan on pulling anything till after 5K miles are on the new rebuild. Thanks!

Cool! Good to hear. I just recently sold my 1,200 lb 14'X6.5' bike trailer because it was honestly overkill. I love hauling my bikes to nice roads (Cali, Co, etc.) and thought I would have to buy a big truck just to tow.
I'm glad I have the EFI because I often hit high altitude.
Let's see more pictures of 22RE trucks or 4runners towing.
P.S. I plan on setting up a tow hitch with adjustabl receiver.
Something like this:

that trailer you posted should be an easy tow, especially if the bike is balanced over the axle.
i have a hitch mount under the bumper, which i strongly recommend. if nothing else than a light tow-point

I think there is already a thread like that.
EDIT: it was placed in the 3rd gen 4runner section and 1st gen Tacoma section though

Nice CBR!
Before I got my R1 it was between the GSX-R, CBR, ZX10R, and R1.
Here are my babies!

Well this could be a thread for the 1st and 2nd gen.

I used to have a 05 raven r1 needed money had to sell, I have a sv650 i used to ride to class now my gf is learning how to ride it. i found a steal on that cbr this summer and couldn't resist. How do you like your toasty seat? that's one thing i hated on the r1, but still its the sexiest of the jap bikes.

Good to know Corax, looks like my trailer will be giving up before the 4 runner. Our old vehicle was a Trooper which had a big frame so I never had to worry about capacity, looks like I still wont have that problem. About 3k is the limit on my trailer.

is very little weight compared to the things I have pulled.
