I'm definitely not the most knowledgeable person on here, but I'm thinking this is a bad idea. Plus, depending on his truck, the pucks might have too big of a diameter to even fit. It just sounds like a bad idea any way you look at it.

terrible

Dont do it but people do. All block lifts are the cheap and bad way to go period!

He would not be the first to do so nor the last but i will never recommend it.

I hate the fact I ever even did it (not pucks but blocks) and should be and

They dry up, rot, and flake away until nothing is there. One day he will look at his truck and wonder why one corner is lower than the other...... upon closer inspection, he will realize that he should have paid the money to get a more legit body lift than that.

I have seen 3 inch PVC used as a 4 inch lift before on a truck a friend of mine bought on Ebay for too much.

but surprisingly the cab is still in place a year later one part of the body was rusted out so the PO ran a U bolt through the cab over a 4x4 treated block around the frame to hold the rear drivers side of the cab in place.

it is the perfect example of why not to bid cars or trucks with only one pic.

Just begging to warp springs and break the long A$$ bolts trail would be even more stress and possible breakage. Bad idea

The majority of the price is the price of the bolts. You can find uhmw bushings for dirt cheap. You can get the bushings cheaper than a roll of hockey pucks. Hell, I've even got a box of them from the 4wheelparts store for free that they've had laying around.

Those are spring blocks. The hockey puck thing is a body lift. Drill a hole in each puck, and put them under the body mounts, just like any body lift kit. Body lifts are not a bad way to lift at all, but hockey pucks aren't the right way to do it. A quality body lift will last forever.

SwampThing is right, though, the cost of the body lift is not in the blocks themselves, it's in the hardware you need to put them on.

Edit: Clarification

Yeah once I read a bit more in the thread I saw that. I was under the impresion he was talking about lifting by using the blocks under the leaf springs or somthing. which I have also seen and why I thought thats what he was talking about.

I know the feeling . It wouldn't surprise me if there was some truck running around out there with hockey pucks stacked under the rear leafs...
