problems with the fuse box

recently my girl has been dying alot. and I figured it was the alternator given the symptoms etc. but before I went to the stealership to fork out a cool 200 bucks for a new one I decided to test the fuse box and found a drain in the system attached to the only forty amp fuse in the box. after paging through every single detail in my ÅÅÅÅlin (chiltin) I found nothing. It's funny how 1986 p/u's are excluded from the wiring diagrams and even if they were included it wouldn't help because the diagrams are so.. well... Im not getting into that. anyway. Does anyone have a map of the fuse box or know what that 40 amp fuse is associated with? any help would be appreciated. I'm headed out to the garage to take a picture if it's needed I'll post it for more information.
thanks
