problem after timing belt replace

hi..

this is my first post and I wish I could have something more positive to start....I have enjoyed all the reading from this board, and now find myself in need of a little help...
I have a 1992 4runner V6 4WD...I have just replaced the water pump, thermostat, camshat, crankshat seals and the timming belt...put everything back together and the truck jerks in first and second gears...mostly when the engine is cold and only sometimes...it does not do it everytime...it seems to not do it or maybe once when the engine is warm....other than that, the engine sounds pretty good, except maybe for a slight rough sound...
could it be that I did not place the timming belt properly and so the timming is off???but then wouldn't the symptoms happen all the time ???
I have replaced since the spark plug ...rotor and cap and will be replacing the wires...( it was part of my normal schedule)
what could it be???
any hehp is greatly appreciated

Check for codes
Check that your plug wires are going to the right places.
Check the timing.
