was there some oil in the filter? if so maybe the filter dose not have a drain back valve aka seal.

 

ya thats what i thought too, but ive put several filters on and always the same thing.

 

so when you remove the filters they are still dry?
very odd I have to say, have you tried to re prime the pump maybe the grease you used to prime the pump is creating blockage.
your timing chain might be throwing oil on top of the head if it is not going through the filter.IDK

 

you REALLY need to figure out why its not creating oil pressure, depending how long you have run it you may be doing irreversible damage

 

Evidently the pump is not pumping which could mean alot of things (not being driven,pickup not installed or fell off,bad pump) but like the previous post said you may be in a situation where you have ran it enough without lubrication that you may need to replace some bearings already .
I would pull the motor and look at it and re-check the bearings (rod,main,cam) .
I know that is not what you want but you may already end up replacing some bearings (I hope not) but you are beating a dead horse , pull the pan and the pump and verify all is well there and if so then investigate the stopped up oil galley from tanking the motor or from a improperly installed galley plug.
Hate to see you wear a fresh motor out re-starting it trying to fix it .

 

this may be a silly question but you did put the paper gasket on the oil sump line?

if not that could prevent oil from getting to the pump also have you checked the bolt/plug on the oil pump to make sure oil is in there?

 

I took the oil pump off and reprimed it and there was oil in it put it back on and still the same thing i did put a gasket between the block and the sump tube flange, im pretty sure ive damaged alot of the internals so shes comin out again and im gunna rebuild it once more hopefully all within 2 weeks, thanks for all the help!

 

I was at my friend's shop so they could work on my wife's stationwagon the other day. They had a Jeep in they were trying to get going....the 4cyl in it was a brand new rebuild. Except, they found no oil was getting to the filter. After a bit, they found a 14-18" rod and sharpened the end, then stuck down where the sending unit is and managed to loosen whatever gunk was blocking it up because when they went to start it the gunk blew right out almost in the other fellow's face.

 

Sorry about that man but good choice , make sure you check all those galleys real good and I hope you don't have to replace much

 

well as a last resort im gunna try and brush out all the oil galleys but im kinda doubting that that will work, im really dreading pulling everything apart again but im pretty determined to get her goin, thanks again so much for all the help!

turns out the shmuck at the machine shop put a galley plug right in behind my oil pump. all i can say is fricken eh.

 

Owwwww , tell them to replace the bad stuff eh
