Price check for '89 SR5 gauge cluster

I've read what seems like every post on the internet in regards to putting an SR5 gauge cluster into my 89 pickup. Seems easy enough, even swapping out the oil pressure sender.

My local toyota junkyard just quoted me $150 bucks for the gauge cluster with the tach. I'll admit, things always tend to cost more than I think they should, but $150 seems outrageous. They also want $60 for the oil pressure sender.

I'm just looking for a reality check. Is $150 for that cluster a "normal" price?
Thanks
Epikos

Keep an eye out on the classified ads here and other boards, you will find a deal.

$150 sounds like a bit much.

just for kicks and giggles, see what the stealership wants for the oil pressure sender

I picked one up off ebay for $45 plus shipping and that was *AFTER* a bidding war. $150 sounds very high.

I've learned the best way to deal with junkyards is to go hunt your parts. Ask if they've got any of your vehicle, or your just looking for some misc. doo-dads. Hopefully they'll let you run around out back scouring the carcasses. Find the parts you need, go back and tell them what you want, and make an offer on the spot. Haggle from there, but you get the picture.

Calling on the phone implies you REALLY need that particular part, but nonchalantly bringing up a certain part out back and throwing down an offer will get you in the price range you want.

I called some local yards a while back and was quoted $30 for a skid. When I used the above method, I got the skid and a dash clock for $10.
