Preventative replacement of head gasket?

First post. A couple of weeks ago purchased a 93 4runner 4wd 5spd with 175K miles. Been lurking on site learning from others. So I started to replace\convert my a\c and to get to the compressor had to remove way more than one would expect as things are snug. While there checked timing belt and it has some cracking and does not appear to ever have been replaced. So going to that and water pump. Figured this far in so might as well replace valve cover gaskets for the massive oil leak. So in process of removing upper intake for access. I plan to drive this thing for several years and then hand off to son so looking for another 100k. Best I can tell head gaskets have never been changed and there is no sticker on door that they were done under recall. Should I just go a “little” deeper and replace the head gaskets now?

My 93 was done under recall around 70k, and has no sticker anywhere stating it was done... best thing to do if you are unsure, is call the dealer with your vin#, they will be able to tell ya if it was done or not! I would suspect it was done, as 93 was a big year for recalls on the hg's, but ya never know, not all were recalled.
