preparing to install a winch.

I have a 91 toyota 3.0 v6. with a red top batterie (720 cold cranking amps)and a high output 90 amp altenator. If i install my warn 9000 winch and winch at full load 9000 pounds my manual says it takes 226 amps to do that. what is that gonna do to my electric system. will my batterie hold up to that. amps and volts confuse me. is there a way to convert one to another or get me to understand it. thanks guys

Your truck weighs in under 4,500lbs, wont ever beingusing all 9k to pull your truck really. A snatch block with a tree saver will also greatly reduce the stress of the winch.

It will be fine. The battery is a bank. It has lots of amps, but you can only use them till they run out or as fast as you can put them back in. You will be able to winch for a few minutes at a time, just not constantly.
