Does anyone have suggestions for the best brand of o2 sensor? NGK or Denso? What are your experiences with each?

NGK worked well for me. It's the only brand I've used on the yota so I can't really give an opinion on others.

Either NGK or Denso is fine. Try to avoid Bosch or any of the generics.

I have a Bosch and it has worked for the past err... 80 miles? I haven't been driving my 4R for the past few days. I would've gone with an OEM one, but I didn't have input on the buy, my dad did. Why does everyone seem to avoid Bosch like a plague?

i personally think bosch stuff is low quality compared to denso or NGK. their plugs always seem to fould up, can't vouch for their O2 sensors.

You need to look underneath and see if yours is in front or behind the catalytic converter. You only need one.

How easy is it to change these things on a Taco? Bolt off bolt on?

Yeup. Should take about 10 minutes including the time to get out your tools.

Some good penetrant the night before on the bolts should do the job, no?

PM Blaster will help, but a lot depends on the age and the "home" of the truck. Mine spent it's first 5 years going through Chicago winters. When it finally came time to do the O2 sensor, it was an interesting experience.

Soak the studs & nuts in PB Blaster, wait an hour, give it a shot. Repeate as required.

BE CAREFUL - you can EASILY snap those studs off. If you do, then it's a trip to an exhaust shop to get it dealt with.

Has anyone tried gettin' their 02 sensor replaced for free from dealer? It says it in the owners manual that u can get it replaced for free, parts and labor...i think it's on page 156 in owners manual..

There are a couple of threads about this here... you should try searching.

Basically there's a mileage limit on that concept of "free". Call the service dept first before you go in.
