Question Power steering pump pully?

Darndest thing, I was driving down the road when all the sudden I see lots of smoke from under the hood. So I pull over to find out that my power steering pump pulley locked up causing the belt to burn and smoke. So I cut the belt and was on my way, but now I'm out power steering. It's not really that big a deal, but still kinda sucks.

When I drove off, it was stuck on there good so I just left it there. When I got home it was gone along with all the other components for it. The only thing left was the tensioner bolt. I don't see how it came off, but whatever.

Anybody know where I can get a new pulley?

which pulley? The one that you turn a nut on to tighten the belt or the pulley ON the PS Pump?

get it from a junkyard or the dealer.

How do you know that after putting a new pulley on there this won't happen again? Did your ps pump seize, or did the bearing on the pulley seize?

Oh ok. That sucks that you lost the pulley since you could have just replaced the bearing with one from the dealer. If I were you I would find a pulley in a junk yard and replace the bearing, since the pulley itself doesn't usually go bad. It's cheaper than buying the whole thing from the dealer.

All the junkyards around me are tapped out (mostly by me). Anywhere I can find one new?
