also on a side note, i had to shim my clutch fan to keep it from hitting the idler pulley bracket??? dunno if anyone els has had to do this, but yes NIGHT AND DAY difference for offroading, especially with 35"s

Theres one 12mm bolt I believe.

I've yet to get one for my rig. It's never been a problem... or has it i dunno ha. My Steering box is leaking like a civ now but it's got over 300k on it.

Just to lazy to put my spare box in. But will admit im getting tired of the oily mess it's making.

How difficult should it be to get the power steering pulley on the balancer? Mine is giving me hell.

not difficult at all if the threads for the 4 bolts are clean and not stripped out.

I purchased a rebuilt steering box and am trying to install it, but I'm having a hell of a time removing the old one. I'm unable to remove the pressure tube and return hose, does anyone know how to remove them? Do you simply unscrew them? Are they reverse threaded? Any help would be great.

hey, there... i got a 1990 pickup with a 4 speed no/ac
and no power steering.

So i understand that 2x4 steering gear box and 4x4 steering gear box are different due to the size of the size of the diameter for te slipned end of the pitmann arm

is there a certain year of gear box that will fit specfic years or all years from 79-95 1/2 all fit.

i've got a power steering pump and the bracket. i just need a high pressure hose and a cooler and a belt.. i've gott the bolts lurking around in a bag some where in te garage..

You guys need to see how much the charge just for a power steering gear box from autozone.. freeking outragous... ... dam crooks..

i went and looked up a the power steering pump on this site to see .. and i tell you what i would never buy a new steering pump for simple factor of how easy it is to rebuild this pump... http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/

i would like to get my hands on on of them... my a$$ of a buddy decide to scrap his old 88 with out takking th gear box of of it... i told him you just through away about 700-500 bucks.. "he was like what do you mean..." i said go look up a steering gear box on autozone.com i continue to rub it in his face every chance i get about how much of idiot he was that day..
