Hi, When I bought my '88 pickup it didnt come with power steering, wheeling is a major pain in the a** . Does anyone know what is entailed in getting power steering and about how much it would cost? Is it a do it yourself job or a shop job? Thanks.

 

Pump bracket pulley hoses and fluid.
Im thinking of doing it myself, i can see where the pump would bolt on....

I dont think it could be to hard...
Find a buddy with an 88 that has power steering and check out his setup.
A pick and pull should have everything you need.

I had a buddy that had a jeep cherokee and he actually put power steering on himself...said it wasnt terrible

I added power steering to an 85 toyota truck (4x4) a while back and it was very easy to do, i got everything i needed from pic n pull.

 

ive got all my ps components sitting in a box in my garage for when i go to put it on.

drews guide helped a lot
