4runner worked out great

Spent the summer working on a 4runner for a new hunting rig. Kinda disappointed with some aspects of this particular vehicle, but as far as a hunting/bush rig I was totally impressed. Such great trucks in the bush, heater works great too.

Also first time I've used an auto and I won't go back, at least on these trucks. I find the auto in these trucks just gives a real smooth ride. Don't get me wrong, I'm not out looking to crawl and I know how to shift and control my clutch. I just find traction with an auto in these rigs is good enough for me.

Here's a few pics of my recent trip.

The 'Samsquash'

And on a side note, if anyone is looking for a working quad my dad just picked up a Yamaha Grizzly 700. I highly recommend em.

Only a guy from Alaska can get away with that one ..lol
They get big up there, I'd love a tri-palm on my wall someday. But for now I'm about the meat and a 900lb animal is still a grunt for 2 guys.

I know what you mean. As long as the meat is good, who cares about the rack size! lol...900lbs is not bad....the calves are born 900lbs up here, though....

If I still lived at home, I'd show you a pic of my dads 53 inch rack. I'm sure you've gotten that big though, right? When I still hunted, I was 'helping' feed a 7 person family..
I miss bear hunting one of my best friends dad got a 8 foot 4inch grizz that was gettin in their trash with 5 arrows. He got it once in the chest and once in the shoulder..then it swam across their lake, which they followed. then hunted it down. Got another one in the chest. then it went across the river that fed the lake, stood up to look back and he nailed it again in the chest and one in the rear leg. That hide is HUGE!!!

edit: Meant 7 foot, 4 inch . sorry. typo

Man I wouldn't even take a pic of a Griz with just a bow in my hand. I carry serious calibre for big game. I'm kind of a pu$$y though, I don't like the thought of being eaten.
I saw this guy a few times on wednesday and friday. I figure he's around the 7 foot range. That's a size 12 snow boot.

Those tracks in your pic are pretty big! Did you get that bear?

Through the tag system I wasn't authorized to hit that griz with the footprints. I don't know if I would've though, the moose meat is so much better.
The blood was such a mess. That's what I love about that truck. Don't give a damn about the body so I figure why not. All my city friends on facebook freak out over that one.lol

At least your runner isn't white! I have to agree with a few of the people on here that the pics make it look like a gorilla massacre or something! HAha
