I bought it in this shape so I'm not gonna trash it. Don't get me wrong, I do wheel it a little but obviously not like some of you guys. If I wanted to do some serious off roading, I woulda bought a truck like yours....

I was thinking about getting the windows tinted but it just looks so much cleaner and classy without. I used to have a truck just like this that I sold to my brother and it had the windows tinted. It didn't look as sharp. Plus its always in the garage so the interior is not exposed to the sun. It's been garaged it whole life. I bought it from the original owner who didn't even know how to put it in 4WD.

Flash, your truck is exactly like mine was when I first bought it before the lift, tires, brushguard, and bushwackers. I also changed out the grill to the one that says "TOYOTA" (older style) and the bumper with the rivets on the sides. I wanted the truck to look older so that's why I put those on thanks to an older 4runner.

Thank you for the compliment! It's great to hear people who appreciate these trucks for what they really are...masterpieces. I also have a 1983 4x4 pickup that I've restored to almost brand new condition. You can see the pics on the Pre-84 forums here. I've only posted the before pics because I don't want to post the after pics until it's completed...which should be sometime next week. Check it out if you enjoy the 1st generation trucks as well.

Was the grill swap simply removing the 92, replacing with the 89-91? Or are the mounts different?

The grills are interchangeable, as are the bumpers.

The mounts are the same...I just "borrowed" the grill and bumper from my 91 4Runner

hahha I'm in the same camp as you where I think the 89-91 grill looks cooler than the newer style. If I put a treebranch or a something through mine then I will 'upgrade' for sure

Just messing around, trying to climb a loose sandy hill which I had absolutely no chance of getting to the top. Got pretty twisted up
